TikTok copyright infringement report or trademark form: which one fits your right

A TikTok copyright infringement report is filed by the owner or an authorized agent, through TikTok's online form or in the app under Counterfeits and intellectual property. Copyright covers your work; a brand or logo goes on the trademark form. TikTok may tell the uploader the owner's name, and it alone decides what comes down.

Which TikTok form fits which right?

Copyright goes on one form, trademark on another, and anything sold through TikTok Shop on a third system, because copyright protects an original work while a trademark identifies a product's source.

Copyright: your video, music or photo re-uploadedCopyright form or in-appOwnership or agent documents
Trademark: your logo used so people assume it's you, or counterfeits promoted in a postTrademark form or in-appA valid registration certificate

A TikTok IP infringement report is the umbrella term. As of November 2026 the trademark form's issue menu lists seven options, among them ads, Shop, impersonation and privacy.

Telegram Ban Service is a reporting desk for Telegram, so this page maps TikTok's routes for owners and files nothing on TikTok for anyone. Compare an Instagram trademark infringement report or X's trademark complaint process.

How do you fill in the TikTok copyright infringement form?

A TikTok copyright infringement report suits the web form when you have several links. Search report copyright infringement TikTok and both doors appear; the Help Center's copyright page names the form and the app. The TikTok report copyright infringement path in the app is Share, Report, Counterfeits and intellectual property, then Intellectual property violation.

As read in September 2026, the TikTok copyright report form runs in this order:

  1. Verify your email address.
  2. Say whether you own the work or act for the owner.
  3. Pick the work type: Video, Original Music, Non-Music Audio, Photo, Logo or Other.
  4. Link the original, or upload evidence under 20 MB.
  5. Paste every reported link.
  6. Tick the optional "Prevent future copies" box; TikTok promises only best efforts, for the same video.
  7. Accept three statements and sign with your full legal name.

A TikTok copyright report missing any of this can be denied, though TikTok may first ask for what's absent.

What does a TikTok trademark infringement report need that copyright doesn't?

A registration. TikTok's trademark page asks for "a valid trademark registration certificate", while copyright generally needs none. The TikTok trademark report form opens with the same email check, and this page stops at that gate, so its later fields aren't listed.

The test is confusion about source. Using a brand to review, compare or parody its products generally passes, and so does a fan page that doesn't claim to speak for the brand. TikTok reporting trademark infringement also has a username edge: it may reset an infringing name or bio, yet owning a mark doesn't entitle you to a matching handle. The TikTok trademark infringement form is built for user content, so ads and Shop listings go elsewhere.

Counterfeits are mostly caught before you see them. TikTok's IP report, published June 24, 2026, says automated detection removed over 126 million videos for counterfeit promotion between July and December 2025.

What must a TikTok DMCA report contain to count?

Six things, set out in 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3), and no separate TikTok DMCA form exists for them. The policy points to the copyright form, so a DMCA takedown request TikTok can act on normally travels through it.

  1. A signature of someone authorized to act for the owner.
  2. The copyrighted work.
  3. The infringing material: on TikTok, the exact video link.
  4. Contact details.
  5. A statement of good-faith belief that the use isn't authorized.
  6. A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you may act for the owner.

The same list drives the DMCA takedown route on Instagram and a DMCA takedown on X. Telegram Ban Service doesn't sign these notices for anyone.

Is there a TikTok DMCA email for a TikTok DMCA takedown?

Yes, one is on the public record, but TikTok doesn't send you there. The U.S. Copyright Office's DMCA Designated Agent Directory, checked November 3, 2026, lists TikTok Inc.'s agent as the TikTok Intellectual Property Team at copyright@tiktok.com, active since January 31, 2025.

The statute makes a platform name an agent to keep its safe harbor; it isn't a help desk. TikTok's Intellectual Property Policy lists the form and in-app reporting and gives no address, and the US Terms updated July 15, 2026 also point to the form. Neither says how that inbox is handled or how fast, so treat the TikTok copyright infringement email as a legal fallback, for when the form fails or counsel wants a formal letter.

It covers copyright, not trademark. CapCut and Lemon8 have their own agents, listed since September 18, 2026.

What happens after you file, and who sees your name?

TikTok checks that the report is complete and comes from the owner or a representative, removes content it finds in breach, and notifies both sides. It "may provide the user with information about your report, such as the name of the copyright owner", and the form warns that contact details may reach the poster, so use a business address.

The uploader can appeal in-app. Outside the EU, TikTok may forward the entire appeal to you, and you can then sue to keep the content down. The statute's counter-notice clock runs 10 to 14 business days, but TikTok publishes no timer and calls reinstatement its sole discretion.

Three copyright strikes mean a permanent ban, and strikes expire after 90 days. TikTok's H2 2025 figures show 401,471 copyright requests with 63.0% leading to removal, and 75,082 trademark requests at 67.1%.

How to report stolen content on TikTok when the form isn't the right door

A re-upload of your video is copyright. Your face in someone else's video usually isn't, because the copyright often belongs to whoever filmed it; that is a privacy question, like a photo of you posted without permission. Your address in a clip resembles reporting doxxing on X, and a fake shop using your logo to take money overlaps with reporting a scammer on Instagram.

The ordinary Report button works differently. Anyone can use it, and TikTok's reporting guide says it "will not disclose your identity" to the person reported, as with reporting a single Instagram post or reporting a tweet.

When should you not file at all?

When you aren't the owner or their agent. The TikTok copyright infringement policy warns that a misleading report "will result in your report being denied" and may bring liability under section 512(f), which covers damages, costs and attorneys' fees for knowing misrepresentation.

The policy also names fair use and fair dealing. A sound used under a licence isn't infringement either, since infringement means use without authorization. A contract dispute needs more than a form, as a formal legal request to Instagram shows.

Telegram Ban Service declines work against rule-abiding people, critics and competitors, won't send false notices or run bots, never asks for passwords or 2FA codes, and promises no outcome.

What if the stolen material moves to Telegram?

That's the one part Telegram Ban Service handles, since a TikTok removal changes nothing on a Telegram channel or bot. You send the channel links, what's being reposted and your proof of ownership; the desk checks the material is genuinely yours and reports it through Telegram's Report button and abuse@telegram.org. Telegram decides, and a channel it restricts may show the "this channel cannot be displayed" notice.

A handle built on your brand and offered for sale is a question about the Telegram username market. An X account that keeps reposting falls under removing an X account.

FAQ

Where is the TikTok copyright report form, and can I use the app instead?

The TikTok copyright report form lives at tiktok.com/legal/report/Copyright, and the app offers the same request. An in-app TikTok copyright report starts from the post: tap Share, then Report, then Counterfeits and intellectual property, then Intellectual property violation. Pick the web version for many links, because the TikTok copyright infringement form has a large box for them and accepts evidence uploads. It asks for an email check first, so use an address you actually read. Anyone who wants to report copyright infringement TikTok should keep a list of URLs rather than filing post by post from a phone. The route most guides call TikTok report copyright infringement is this same form. Only the owner or an authorized representative may submit it, with documents showing that status.

Where do I find the TikTok trademark report form?

It sits at tiktok.com/legal/report/Trademark, and the page limits it to user-generated content. That is the TikTok trademark infringement form for ordinary posts and profiles; advertisements and TikTok Shop listings have their own teams, reached through the issue menu. A TikTok trademark infringement report needs a valid registration certificate plus documents showing you own the mark or represent the owner. An unregistered brand name will struggle, since TikTok describes protection as coming from a national or regional office. TikTok reporting trademark infringement in the app follows the same steps as copyright. After review, TikTok removes what breaches the policy and notifies both parties, and the uploader may appeal in-app. Your details travel too: TikTok may give the reported user information such as the name of the trademark owner.

What goes in a TikTok DMCA report, and is there a TikTok DMCA form?

No form carries that name. The TikTok DMCA form in practice is the copyright form, since TikTok's policy says the DMCA sets out what a compliant notice needs and then asks for everything its online form requests. A TikTok DMCA report therefore holds six statutory elements: a signature, the work, the infringing link, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and an accuracy statement made under penalty of perjury. A DMCA takedown request TikTok receives without them may be denied, or TikTok may write back for what's missing, so answer quickly. Link the original wherever it lives, even outside TikTok, because the reviewer has to compare two things. People outside the US use the same form. Keep a dated copy of what you submit.

Is there a TikTok copyright infringement email or TikTok DMCA email that gets a faster answer?

An address exists, and nothing shows it is faster. The Copyright Office directory, checked November 3, 2026, lists copyright@tiktok.com as the designated agent's address for TikTok Inc., effective January 31, 2025. That makes it the TikTok DMCA email on the legal record, and the likeliest answer to anyone seeking a TikTok copyright infringement email. Yet TikTok's policy and Help Center mention only the online form and in-app reporting for a TikTok DMCA takedown, and they publish no response time for that inbox. If you write to it, include all six statutory elements and the exact links. Trademark complaints don't belong there, because section 512 deals with copyright. Distrust any message claiming to be this team that asks for your password; TikTok says it will never contact you to ask for one.

How to report stolen content on TikTok if I'm not the owner?

Tell the owner, because you can't file for them. TikTok's rule is plain: you must own the work or be an authorized representative, and that goes for a TikTok IP infringement report of any kind. Send the creator the link to the copy and the date you saw it, and let them decide. You can still use the ordinary Report button if the post breaks a Community Guideline for another reason, such as a scam or impersonation, and that report doesn't reveal your identity to the uploader. Misusing the IP form is different: TikTok says false information can suspend your use of the webform or bring other legal consequences. Knowing how to report stolen content on TikTok mostly comes down to knowing who holds the right.

What does the TikTok copyright infringement policy do to repeat offenders?

It bans them, on a counted basis with exceptions. The TikTok copyright infringement policy is part of the Intellectual Property Policy released March 27, 2025, and the Help Center supplies the numbers: three copyright strikes lead to a permanent ban, and strikes fall off after 90 days. Copyright and trademark are tallied apart, so two of each doesn't trigger a ban, whereas three of one kind does. A burst of reports close together may count as a single strike. TikTok can also ban at once for severe violations; its report for July to December 2025 says about 90% of permanent bans were immediate and about 10% came from repetition. Strikes can also vanish if a report is retracted or an appeal succeeds.
